Whine with HR
Whine with HR is hosted by Juls and Trish, two lawyers and HR professionals with 15+ years of experience, who figure it’s better to laugh at the craziness that is HR than to cry about it. In each episode, Juls and Trish will discuss the wine of the day that they’re drinking and the “whine” of the day that they’re thinking (about).

Welcome to the NEW Short Pour! We're trying a fresh type of Short Pour, where we cover HR current news, hot topics, and time sensitive changes in law. Things shift quickly, and we want to be able to offer as much insight as we can!
We're excited to jump into this new format with discussion of the newest adjustments to the EEO1 Portal & EEO1 Reporting.
PLEASE NOTE: This Short Pour was recorded prior to recent changes. The public comment period for the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission’s (EEOC) proposed rule to rescind EEO-1 and related reporting requirements now ends on August 24, 2026. The Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) was published in the Federal Register on July 23, 2026, following a 2–1 commissioner vote.
So, as always, grab a beverage, settle in, and don't forget to take notes - there's a lot going on!

Titles can be an extremely useful tool to keep expectations and job tasks assigned properly and under the correct umbrella. But what happens when those titles start to become a limiter on capability rather than an identifier of it? In this episode, we discuss how titles and skills are not always the same thing - and how we need to be checking in with our teams to confirm they feel the title even makes sense.

Disability bias can show up in obvious ways, like illegal interview questions, and in quieter ways, like inaccessible celebrations, assumptions about stamina or communication style, or promotion decisions based on “fit” instead of job-related criteria. In this episode, we discuss ways you can make sure your employees with differing abilities are getting the support they need.
